Getting to Zion

Located in Springdale, Utah, Zion National Park is approximately a two-hour drive from Las Vegas McCarran International Airport and a one-hour drive from the St. George Utah airport. The Las Vegas airport is slightly further away, but is a major international airport and flights may be much cheaper if you travel through Las Vegas instead of St. George. The wedding is at 4pm MST on Sunday, Oct. 16th, 2016, and it is up to you how many days or nights you want to stay!

From Kentucky, Ohio or Tennessee – You can fly directly into Utah; however, you may find it cheaper to fly into Vegas and carpool to Utah. We recommend flying out of either Louisville, Knoxville or Cincinnati. The cheapest airlines seem to be either Allegiant or Frontier, and the cheapest days to fly seem to be Thursdays and Fridays.

From Las Vegas, NV – It is roughly a two-hour drive to Zion National Park from Las Vegas. Before you depart, we recommend filling up on gas, grabbing some road trip snacks, and plugging the address into your GPS (Google/iPhone works just fine). Take I-515 N / US-93 N / US-95 N then follow I-15 N to State Hwy 9 E / State St in Washington. Take exit 16 from I-15 N and drive to UT-9 E. Follow the signs for Zion National Park.

From California – You can fly directly into Utah; however, depending on your location, you may find it cheaper to fly (or drive) into Vegas first and then carpool from Vegas to Utah. Before you depart Las Vegas, we recommend filling up on gas, grabbing some road trip snacks, and plugging the address into your GPS (Google/iPhone works just fine). Take I-515 N / US-93 N / US-95 N then follow I-15 N to State Hwy 9 E / State St in Washington. Take exit 16 from I-15 N and drive to UT-9 E. Follow the signs for Zion National Park.

From Salt Lake City – You can fly directly to St. George (one hour outside of Zion); however, you may find it cheaper to fly into Las Vegas and carpool to Springdale. Another option would be driving 4.5 hours from Salt Lake City directly to Springdale. If you prefer to drive from Salt Lake City, take I-15 S to UT-17 S / UT-228 in Toquerville. Take exit 27 from I-15 S and drive to UT-9 E. Follow the signs for Zion National Park.

Hotel Reservation

Friday, Oct. 14 – Because it is cheaper to fly into Las Vegas, we recommend staying at Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip on Friday night.

Saturday, Oct. 15 – For those who will be spending Saturday night in Utah, we are looking into a limited number of rooms at an AirBNB lodge. Please let us know if you might be interested! There is also a campground in Zion and several hotels within driving distance.

Sunday, Oct. 16 – Since the wedding occurs at 4pm MST in Springdale, you have the option of either flying home late in the evening on Sunday (8pm MST or later) or staying an extra night in either Utah or Vegas. For those who are staying Sunday night in Utah, we are currently looking into a limited number of rooms at an AirBNB lodge for Sunday night. If you might be interested in staying in the group lodge, please let us know.
